What to do!?

How do you explain to your parents that your flute is broken? It makes me feel...well, horrible. Though my band teacher says I didn't do anything to it, that there is a part missing from it getting snagged on something. It still plays but it's really hard and I am breathless after a few notes of playing. My band instructor said it's called a air leak. Great. Just great! How am I supposed to tell my parents? They will be so angry. Maybe I can get my teacher to e-mail my Dad or something, so I don't have to deal with that.

Anyway, my science teacher says I need a note! A note to take home his hamster, Little Bear, over the weekend. I love that cute little brown hamster. He says he isn't sure it's a girl or boy, but he's pretty sure it's a girl. So, he just calls it a goyle. Interesting, right? My Grandpa calls my sister and I goyles. I never understood.

My parents broke the news last night. We aren't planning on going to Holden Beach, NC this year. It's a family tradition, and we aren't going. I LOVE GOING THERE. We go on late night walks on the beach and I always keep my eyes out for red lights. Red lights are flashlights covered with a red cloth so that Sea Turtles don't get distracted to the light and go into the dunes towards the houses instead of the ocean. I am a huge sea turtle fan. I get a turtle shirt every year. This just isn't fair! How can I not see my cousins and collect seashells? What about the dolphins dancing on the water with their silver slick bodies? What about cool sharks and people crowding? Or or...but but.
NOT FAIR! IT JUST ISN'T FAIR! I'm so upset. I love checking all the little shops and everything and going over the big bridge. Sure I'd love to go to Shenandoah, but this place really is growing on me. I'm so upset. UGH!

Reuniting with a friend.

When your 13th birthday is coming up, it's time for a room change. So I decided to clean up a little bit.

I dusted all my stuff off since I haven't really touched my room in a while and was living out with my Grandma while my parents away, everything was stored. And look, I found my long lost flute! It's been a long time since I actually touched that flute. Last year maybe? Ah well, I can still play it. I know my scales still. Normal scales, two octave scales, and I'm struggling on the chromatic scale. For those who don't know, a one octave scale is a group of notes that ascend into a higher pitch, then you descend into a lower pitch. Focusing on long tones and melodic/harmonic tones. Two octave means you go 16 pitches higher then you started and back down again to where you start. A chromatic is every note fit until one scale. For example on a piano playing all the keys in order (including the black keys). Very interesting right? My posture needs some work as well. A good posture helps air flow through your body into the instrument producing a sound much better then when you are slouching. I guess I'll have to work things out. It's a good thing I found my flute because I have to go back to school, and if my music teacher were to find out...I don't even want to know what he'd do to my grade. But he is pretty laid back so he'll understand if I'm a little rusty.

I looked in my treasure chest to see what I had in there. Oh wow, so that's where my hairbrush went! No wonder! And my NYC American Girl Place flower hair ties. I can't believe I found all these things. The box was a little dusty, and trust me I wasn't looking forward to cleaning that. Most dust is dead skin cells since you shed those every minute or so. Not quite happy about that myself. I actually find that disgusting. It also doesn't help having a dog. Pet dander definitely means more dust. Oh no. Well Rosie was being a snoop and peeking in my box, I think maybe she smelled something. Basset Hounds have incredibly strong noses and were used for hunting along side with their close relatives, the Blood Hound another breed of dog which is bigger then Basset Hounds and a little more common for hunting. Well enough of that.

Of course there isn't much else exciting where I live. No mountains or monuments or anything. The only special about my state is that, it's the first state.

The Climb

I haven't been touched in who knows how long. Laying on the floor. Grounded for doing nothing I guess. But it all started...yesterday. I was poked at. I was looked at curiously. Now, I'm starting all over. I have a completely different personality, and I'm definitely going to speak out more. No more shy stuff on this blog...I'm letting it all out.

I made the climb from the bottom of the interest rate to about half way to the top.
There still is one thing I have to settle.
