Reuniting with a friend.

When your 13th birthday is coming up, it's time for a room change. So I decided to clean up a little bit.

I dusted all my stuff off since I haven't really touched my room in a while and was living out with my Grandma while my parents away, everything was stored. And look, I found my long lost flute! It's been a long time since I actually touched that flute. Last year maybe? Ah well, I can still play it. I know my scales still. Normal scales, two octave scales, and I'm struggling on the chromatic scale. For those who don't know, a one octave scale is a group of notes that ascend into a higher pitch, then you descend into a lower pitch. Focusing on long tones and melodic/harmonic tones. Two octave means you go 16 pitches higher then you started and back down again to where you start. A chromatic is every note fit until one scale. For example on a piano playing all the keys in order (including the black keys). Very interesting right? My posture needs some work as well. A good posture helps air flow through your body into the instrument producing a sound much better then when you are slouching. I guess I'll have to work things out. It's a good thing I found my flute because I have to go back to school, and if my music teacher were to find out...I don't even want to know what he'd do to my grade. But he is pretty laid back so he'll understand if I'm a little rusty.

I looked in my treasure chest to see what I had in there. Oh wow, so that's where my hairbrush went! No wonder! And my NYC American Girl Place flower hair ties. I can't believe I found all these things. The box was a little dusty, and trust me I wasn't looking forward to cleaning that. Most dust is dead skin cells since you shed those every minute or so. Not quite happy about that myself. I actually find that disgusting. It also doesn't help having a dog. Pet dander definitely means more dust. Oh no. Well Rosie was being a snoop and peeking in my box, I think maybe she smelled something. Basset Hounds have incredibly strong noses and were used for hunting along side with their close relatives, the Blood Hound another breed of dog which is bigger then Basset Hounds and a little more common for hunting. Well enough of that.

Of course there isn't much else exciting where I live. No mountains or monuments or anything. The only special about my state is that, it's the first state.

  1. LOL finding lost treasures is always fun. So, when are we going to hear you play the flute?
And the dog!! I'm practically allergic to anything that breathes.

  2. I have a special trunk where I keep all of my treasures, too. Every once in a while I have to clean it out, though, as it seems to pack itself overnight!

I've always wanted to learn how to play the flute. My teacher loves it, but hated how she always felt light-headed after trying to play it...so she stayed with the violin.

I don't have any pets because mon père...my dad...was allergic, but some of the girls here have cats and dogs. I've really taken a liking to this one little cat named Licorice.

  3. The flute is very cool. I play the clarinet.

Woodwind players > everyone else =)

I like your dog. Dogs are fun, but my parents won't let me have one. I do have a bunny though. XD
